GCSE Results 2022

These GCSE results follow just over two years of unprecedented challenges for this cohort of students, who had the start to their GCSEs disrupted by Covid lockdowns and a high proportion of online learning. In addition to the national lockdowns, numerous students also missed days of learning because of isolating with the virus or as close contacts. As was the case locally and nationally, there were a number of students who struggled to adapt and return to full education as a result of the pandemic which therefore impacting upon their attendance, attainment and progress measures. As a result, the table below highlights the GCSE results for the full cohort or students compared to the results of those who were not classed as PA (persistently absent). Students are classified as persistently absent if their attendance is 90% or below.
